  17. You have got to be kidding me! This sure is a bombshell!! So much for
  18. OpenDoc being cross-platform. I read the post from the OpenDoc list
  19. regarding a scheme for an object message layer to fix this utter disaster,
  20. but it seemed possibly far off.

  22. So, under windows, how should I proceed in the meantime? I want third
  23. party apps to be able to drive my part, so I can't use some proprietary
  24. scheme. Using OLE automation would be no problem if I were writing on OLE
  25. server, but since I am doing an OpenDoc part how do I support OLE
  26. automation? Any ideas? If you refer me to the OpenDoc list, would you
  27. provide the directions to subscribe?

  29. Sorry if I sound rather upset, but this is a real blow to my expectations.
  30. I was tempted to write our part using OLE a year ago, but my boss wanted
  31. me to use OpenDoc. I am beginning to regret not going with OLE, seeing
  32. that OpenDoc is going to be a Mac-only thing in this area (a big one I
  33. might add).
